Two arrested, charged with assaulting police officer Brian Sicknick, who died after Capitol riot

Authorities have arrested and charged two males with assaulting Brian Sicknick, the police officer who died on account of the Jan. 6 pro-Trump invasion of the U.S. Capitol, NBC Information reported Monday.

The boys, who have been arrested Sunday and are anticipated to seem in federal courtroom later Monday, should not at the moment charged with killing Sicknick, NBC reported.

Julian Elie Khater, 32, of Pennsylvania, and 39-year-old George Pierre Tanios of West Virginia are accused of assaulting Sicknick with a substance much like bear spray, based on NBC.

The arrests have been first reported by The Washington Post earlier Monday morning.

Video footage of Khater and Tanios on Jan. 6 exhibits the 2 males “have been working in live performance and had a plan to make use of the poisonous spray in opposition to regulation enforcement,” based on a search warrant affidavit in West Virginia federal courtroom, NBC reported.

“Give me that bear s—,” Khater mentioned earlier than reaching into Tanios’ backpack, the affidavit alleges, citing “open supply media video” of the incident.
